We will sponsor the 2008 11th Annual Card Board Boat Races during Algonquin Founders Days , on Thursday at 4:30 P.M. We hope to have 100 teams. First prize is $100 , 2nd prize is $75 and 3rd prize is $50. Each team will be given about 180 sq. ft. of cardboard, 1 Stanley knife, 3 rolls of duct tape, and 2 hours to build the boat. Then you must paddle out about 200 ft in the middle of the river around the buoys and the first, second and third that make it back to shore win the money. The Fire Dept will be in the water watching for anyone in distress. Lots of laughs even if you don't want to participate. Good Luck !
